Born in Glasgow in 1952, Gordon W. Smith began studying visual arts in the early seventies but quickly moved into music. His main area of interest lies in the exploration of the transitory dynamic chains of events that exist and coexist in non-narrative structure and the way in which non linear developments interact and give each other new and different meanings and significance. For him, music is a series of questions and not a display of answers and he acts in the moment to create situations where questions are posed and ideas resolved. Smith lives and works in Edinburgh.
