Folkestone Fringe

The Folkestone Fringe aims to showcase, champion, and encourage contemporary art practices that explore public and private spaces and the liminal boundary that exists between them.

Established in 2008, we are a non-for-profit organization that receives commissions and offers briefs; our commitment is to curate and document the work of artists who, in response to those briefs, engage with the possibilities for creative adventure public spaces offer.

Recent projects have included: Lighthouse Relay, in which over 40 artists collaborated on a cumulative transmission sound work that traveled across 14 international lighthouse sites; and Hotels which examined Folkestone as a point of destination through a series of photographic essays.
