Linda O'Keeffe

Linda O'Keeffe is currently pursuing a PhD at N.U.I.M exploring the "Sociology of the Constructed Soundscape". She is also a lecturer at N.U.I.M and DCU and has guest lectured at numerous events on the study of sound. She has exhibited in China the USA, Canada and Europe, her work is predominantly sound based with a focus on installation and performance. In 2006 she was commissioned to compose for the Dance Theater of Irelands original dance Watermark. In 2007 she was commissioned to create a sound installation in the Netherlands for the 500th anniversary of the town of Amersfoort as well as a public art commission for Dublin city county council. In 2008 she apprenticed under Eric Leonardson exploring instrument building. She is an editor for the online sound journal www.interferencejournal.com. She is chair of sound art and secretary for I.S.S.T.A, the Irish sound, science and technology association.
