Schedule & Fees

Artists may propose residencies of any duration. An artist stipend of $250 per week is available.

Accommodations

Artists are housed in the Wave Farm Study Center, which includes, two bedrooms, studio workspace, kitchette, lavatory, shower, as well as the Study Center library, WGXC 90.7-FM Acra broadcast studio, and free103point9 offices. The Study Center is located on 29 acres, Wave Farm, in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountain Park. The property features meadows, two small ponds, and a pine forest with large walking paths. Please note: residents may not invite additional overnight guests without prior approval.

Artists must pay for their own travel expenses as well as expenses related to meals during their stay. Transporation from the Hudson Amtrak station, the Kingston bus station, or the Albany airport is available, as well as local transportation for groceries and supplies.

Eligibility

This is an international open call for proposals. Artists should either posses a significant body of past transmission-based work, or a compelling argument in support of their future work within the transmission art genre. Full-time students are ineligible; however, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for career artists who may have returned to school for post-graduate work.

Requirements

Resident artists must include a Saturday afternoon broadcast on WGXC 90.7-FM as part of their proposed project.

Review & Notification Process

Applications will be reviewed by free103point9 staff, and an advisory board of transmission artists. Notification is typically made within four weeks of receiving a proposal.
