The Village Voice says, "Broadcasting out of Williamsburg in various formats since 1997, [free103point9 Online Radio] is even more experimental than trad radio's WFMU, and that's saying a lot. Mind-scrambling free jazz, industrial noise, experimental rock, and uncategorizable sound experiments from the wilds of Williamsburg, Brooklyn."

"freel03point9 is a 24-hour internet radio station affiliated with the media organisation which promotes experimental soundworks in New York," wrote Anne Hilde Neset in The Wire. "Log on and listen to Dean Roberts, John Hudak, Double Leopards, M Behrens, Tod Dockstader and many others streamed from the site." free103point9 Online Radio airs without advertisements and with minimum interruptions.
