Collaborator
DAVID GALBRAITH
David Galbraith is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in New York. Galbraith explores the couplings between art, music, technology and the body through sound installations, recordings, and live performances that feature the custom electronic sound modules he has designed and built for over ten years. Recent international performances include Erase & Reset: International Night Of Experimental & Electronic Music at Staatsbank Berlin (2003); Garage Festival, Stralsund, Germany (2003); and Musica Pro Nova, Bremen, Germany (2000). Galbraith's drawings, videos and collaborative work with Teresa Seemann have been shown in two-person shows with Seemann at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York (2001), the Soap Factory, Minneapolis (2001), and Innocence & Mystery, Berlin (2003). Galbraith's roots electronica and electronoise duos, The Experimental Makeup and Iron Lap, have performed widely since 1999. Their debut CDs XPRMNTLMKP and Towards an Iron Lap, both released on Galbraith's Sounds Okay imprint, are reviewed in issue eleven of The Sound Projector Music Magazine (U.K.).
