JOE MCKAY
McKay grew up in Ontario, Canada. He went to school at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, and more recently graduated with an MFA from UC Berkeley. In 2001 McKay participated of the Whitney Independent Study Program and had a two-person collaborative exhibition with Kristin Lucas titled "The Electric Donut". In 2004 Joe had his first solo show at VertexList in Williamsburg, New York. He has shown his work in the Berkshire Museum, The National Gallery of Canada, ICA in San Jose, Pacific Film Archive, and New Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2007 he had his second solo show at Vertex list titled "Loss of Signal", and is currently a resident at the Headlands Center for the Arts.
